These gardens near the path to Castle Hill were made to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. They were enhanced with two new beds, behind the two seats, in 2014/5, supplied and maintained by the Garden Club. The finance was provided from a legacy left to the club some years ago by a family in memory of a Richard Smith, a former member of the club. A further sum was taken from the club funds to complete the project. The beds were designed and plants sourced by members John & Sylvia Goff.
In 2022 a major overhaul of the gardens was required as they had become very overgrown, existing plants have now been removed the gardens will be completely replanted this spring (2023).
